What does a Professional Detailer Do?
A professional Detailer works with you, the customer, to determine the results that you are looking for. We then use our superior chemicals, well-maintained equipment, proven detailing process, and our knowledge and experience to meet your expectations for your vehicle.

What is Detailing?

Detailing is the performance of an extremely thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of an automobile, both inside and out, to produce a show-quality level of detail. It can be practiced for personal satisfaction, and it is also performed to prepare a car for car shows that feature, both the inside and outside appearance of cars. Besides improving the appearance of cars, detailing helps to
preserve the car, and thus, increases resale value.
Detailing does not include body work, painting, mechanical or upholstery repair.

What is Interior/Exterior Detailing?
Exterior detailing involves cleaning and bringing a shine to the car’s paint, chrome trim, windows, wheels, and even tires.
Interior detailing involves cleaning the passenger compartment of the car. Vacuuming is standard, and steam cleaning, liquid cleaners, and brushes may be used to remove stains on upholstery. Some nonporous surfaces may also be polished.

Why should I do an Engine Clean?
A clean and tidy engine compartment makes it much easier to detect oil and fluid leaks, damaged or worn drive belts and rust or battery corrosion before they lead to more serious damage. If things really get out of hand, the dirt could provide fuel for an engine fire.

What can bugs and or eggs do to harm your finish on your exterior
If you’re the unfortunate victim of a drive-by egging, take it to immediately Elegant Detailing LLC to avoid an expensive paint job.
An eggshell is mostly made up of calcium carbonate. The yolk contains all of the egg’s fat, while the white contains most of the niacin and riboflavin. The shell can scratch the paint, and in some cases, it can go all the way to the bare metal. The inside of the egg will bond to the surface of the car if left to sit for too long. You must “unbond” the egg immediately to save your paint or it can result in an expensive repair the same goes for bugs and tree sap. bugs have acidic acid which can also harm your finish.

What are swirl marks?
Swirl marks are the “C-like” scratches you see in painted surfaces. They are result of misuse of professional polishing equipment or poor product selection. These generally occur when an individual tries to remove paint imperfections with the wrong product and/or polishing equipment. The solution to this problem is a swirl remover to remove the actual “C” scratches that are in the painted surfaces, instead of a polish. (Most polishes are fill-in glazes, not swirl removers)

What is oxidation?
Oxidation is defined as the interaction between oxygen molecules and all the different substances they may contact. Oxidation is bad for your car since the outermost layers of paint are constantly exposed to air and water. If the car’s outer finish is not protected by a wax coating or polyurethane, the oxygen molecules in the air will eventually start interacting with the paint. As the oxygen burns up the free radicals contained in the paint, the finish becomes duller and duller. Restoration efforts may include removing several layers of affected paint and reapplying a new layer of protectant.
This is why professional car detailers, recommend at least one layer of wax or other protectant be used every time the car is washed.

What is acid rain/snow and its effect on my car?
Acid rain/snow is usually caused by pollution for example car exhaust. Acid rain/snow is the elevated acidity in any precipitation. The elevated acids in acid rain/snow are nitric and sulfuric acids. Acid rain/snow is harmful to your family and your car. Spots in your car windows left over from acid rain are sometimes difficult to discern from simple water spots–with luck, your glass is only dirty, and not damaged.

I have clear coat on my car. Do I still need waxing?
Clear coat is just that; a clear layer of paint over the colored layer of paint. Clear coat being paint itself, must have wax applied to protect it as well. Like skin on our bodies, paint and clear coat must be kept clean and protected. Think of hand and body lotion as wax for your skin. If your car is hand washed once a week and garage kept, depending on your geographic location, you can go as long as 90 days before needing to apply wax. If the vehicle is black and or you reside in an extreme environment, it should be waxed every 45 days.

Why is carpet shampooing and odor removal good for my health?

Spilling is a common occurrence inside a vehicle. Pet’s urine and smoking may contribute to the bad smell in your car. Mold and mildew can develop easily in this situation, and can make your vehicle terribly unhealthy. In fact, mold and mildew are some of the primary reasons behind the runny noses, sneezes, nasal congestion and watery eyes. Americans spend approximately two and a half hours a day in their car. That’s why it is essential to shampoo your carpet regularly and let us deodorize your vehicle to remove the unhealthy environment for your family.

How often should I wash my car in the Winter?
Every driver should take active steps to protect their car from winter road treatment. According to CDOT, sand/salt, liquid anti-icer and de-icer are used. De-icing chemicals can accelerate deterioration in concrete and steel structures. Vehicle corrosion will accelerate. Corrosion on vehicles and structures is estimated to be the largest cost impact of chloride based chemicals.
In addition, mud, salt, rain, sleet, and snow can damage your car’s clear finish. Mud and salt caked on the undercarriage promote rust, especially in older vehicles, and can also affect how well your car drives. Therefore, please come to your car during wintertime to protect your investment from winter damage.
Always wash your car right after a snow or rain shower. Rain and snow collect pollutants in the air and drop them which can damage the cars protective finish. Snow and sleet also include the corrosive road salt. Immediately after washing the vehicle, open and close all doors, the trunk, and other parts of the car with locks several times before parking it to prevent locks from freezing.

Do black cars scratch faster?
Most common scratches on cars usually will be colored white. White against black is one of the easiest things to see. Black cars do not get scratched easier but you will notice it much quicker, especially after your car is thoroughly cleaned by a car wash. In addition, Swirl Marks Are More Noticeable in black cars. Black cars easily show dust and they heat up more. Any imperfection will be easily spotted on a black car. Time is money; therefore, many detailers charge more to work on black cars.
